Money - Biblical Perspective!

Money is a recurring theme in the Bible, often portrayed as both a tool for good and a potential source of corruption. One of the most well-known verses on this topic is 1 Timothy 6:10, which states, “For the love of money is the root of all evil.” This passage is often misquoted to imply that money itself is evil, but the key message is that an excessive attachment to wealth can lead to moral downfall. Similarly, Matthew 6:24 warns, “No one can serve two masters... You cannot serve both God and money.” This verse emphasizes the importance of prioritizing spiritual wealth over material possessions, urging believers to seek divine purpose rather than financial gain. On the other hand, the Bible also acknowledges the responsible use of money. Proverbs 13:11 teaches, “Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.” This highlights the value of patience, diligence, and ethical financial growth. Likewise, Luke 6:38 encourages generosity, stating, “Give, and it will be given to you.” This passage reflects the biblical principle of reciprocity, where selfless giving leads to blessings in return. While money itself is neutral, the Bible calls for wisdom in its use—urging believers to be stewards of their wealth, practice generosity, and avoid greed.
